LEADER OR NAVIGATOR POLICY

This policy explains the role responsibilities limitations and expectations of Leaders also referred to as Navigators within TISA Network Ltd.

By applying for or accepting a Leader or Navigator role you agree to this policy.

1. About Leaders and Navigators

Leaders or Navigators are individuals appointed by TISA Network Ltd to support members and help manage student related concerns within the TISA community.

Important clarification
Leaders and Navigators are not employees agents representatives or officers of TISA Network Ltd unless explicitly stated in writing.

They do not have authority to make legal financial immigration or official decisions on behalf of TISA.

2. Purpose of the role

The purpose of Leaders and Navigators is to

• Support students with guidance and signposting
• Act as a first point of contact where appropriate
• Help communicate student concerns to the TISA team
• Support community engagement and awareness
• Uphold TISA values and community standards

They act as support facilitators, not decision makers.

3. Nature of the role

Leadership and Navigator roles

• Are voluntary in nature unless otherwise stated
• Do not constitute employment or contract of service
• Do not guarantee compensation benefits or future roles
• Are based on trust responsibility and availability

Roles may vary depending on needs location and capacity.

4. Responsibilities

Leaders and Navigators are expected to

• Act respectfully and responsibly at all times
• Maintain confidentiality and data privacy
• Escalate serious matters to the TISA core team
• Avoid giving legal medical immigration or financial advice
• Follow all TISA policies and guidelines
• Represent TISA ethically and accurately

Failure to meet responsibilities may result in removal from the role.

5. Boundaries and limitations

Leaders and Navigators must not

• Make promises or guarantees to students
• Handle money on behalf of TISA
• Represent themselves as authorities or officials
• Provide professional advice
• Act beyond their assigned role

All official decisions remain with TISA Hub Ltd.

6. Selection and appointment

• Leaders and Navigators are selected based on suitability and alignment
• Selection is discretionary
• Appointment may be withdrawn at any time
• No appeal is guaranteed

Holding a role does not create permanent status.

7. Conduct and accountability

Leaders and Navigators must follow

• Community Guidelines and Code of Conduct
• Privacy Policy
• Service Scope Policy
• All applicable laws

Misconduct breach of trust or policy violations may result in immediate removal.

​

8. Use of TISA name and branding

Leaders and Navigators may

• Use their title only as authorised
• Not create unofficial representations or commitments
• Not speak on behalf of TISA without approval

All public representation must be accurate and approved where required.

​

9. Termination of role

TISA may remove a Leader or Navigator

• Without notice where necessary
• Without obligation to provide reasons
• Without compensation

Removal does not affect general membership unless separately stated.

​

10. Limitation of liability

TISA is not liable for actions taken by Leaders or Navigators outside authorised scope.

Leaders and Navigators are personally responsible for their conduct.

​

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated at any time.

Updated versions will be posted on the website.
Continued involvement indicates acceptance.

​

12. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

​
